So, “independent” movies…that means you have all the really horribly produced movies no one’s ever heard of, right?
No. We carry ALL types of movies. We get new releases every Tuesday. We cater to harder to find films(arthouse, foreign, etc.) but we also have big blockbusters, kids movies and much more.
Is Netflix running you out of business? How do you stay open? Netflix is soooo awesome! I’m looking at my queue right now. Lots of good stuff here….
No. People are the only thing that can put us out of business. Most people appreciate and understand the benefits that a local, brick and mortar business provides to their community over a giant corporation like Netflix, and hopefully they see that we try and go out of our way to be part of the community that supports us. That’s not to say people can’t have other ways of renting movies and still support us. (Note: Interestingly, Netflix and Redbox are now prohibited from renting most major new releases for the first 30 days they are out.)
What happens if a movie is scratched and doesn’t play?
If a movie doesn’t work properly, simply let us know. We have a refurbishing machine that cleans discs, or we can credit your account for the cost of the rental.
I love that you guys don’t have late fees! That essentially means I can keep a movie as long as I please, lend it to friends, run over it with my bike and play frisbee golf with it, yeah?
Actually, we do have late fees. Generally they are sliding-scale, if it’s not abused. We have an assistance chart at the counter that helps let you know what you’ll owe if late. We’re more strict with new releases.
What’s that creepy room in the back that is dimly lit and has a TV in it?
We have a TV lounge in the back that is currently undergoing renovation. It’s $2 to rent with 2 or less people. $5 for 3 and up. You pay and get to watch a movie on the big screen TV while enjoying our incredibly comfortable couches. You don’t have to be a customer and don’t have to check out the movie to use the lounge. Ask at the counter for more info. Great for parties and bar mitzvahs.
Why are all of the employees at Best Place Ever so strikingly beautiful?
It wasn’t planned, honestly. I don’t even know how to answer this.
